Writer of travel books (b. 1956). He attended Işık High School and graduated from Robert College and then he went to the United States. He was educated in history, philosophy and South American History of Politics at Yale and Columbia Universities. He started his business life by working as director general in large companies. He then became bored of the routine and searched for ways of living freely. He chose to travel to different parts of the world and to write travel books.
His aim was to be a contemporary traveler writer and he began to produce travel books for English and American companies. In 1998, Küçük Oteller (The Little Hotel Book) was his first book published in Turkey. In a short time, his other books followed. Then he decided to live in Şirince village, worked there as a builder and ran a hotel. He became an expert in house restoration. He still writes travel books and dictionaries and still lives in Şirince.
