Philologist (b. 1889, Başkurdistan Ekaterinburg / Çigay / Russia - d. 1976, Ankara). He completed his primary education in Çigay, his secondary and higher education at the Resuliyye School in Troysk. When the independence efforts of the Turks in Russia failed, Abdülkadir İnan, who also had a Madrasah Muslim School education, came to İstanbul through Iran and Europe in 1925. He was appointed as an assistant to the Institute of Research on Turkology. 

In 1935, by the order of Atatürk, he was given the rank of professor at the Faculty of Language, History and Geography. In 1961, he was elected to the Department of Religious Affairs Consultation Committee. His articles were published in the Türk Kültürü review. He supported the famous “Sun Language Theory”. He did work on Kutadgu Bilig (The Knowledge of Happiness) and Divan-ı Lugati’t-Türk (Turkish Dictionary of Collected Poems).
