Turkish-Cypriot
sculptor-poet-writer Şinasi Tekman was born in 1933 the Yiğitler village,
Cyprus. After completing his secondary education at LTL, he finished Güzelyurt
Teachers' Training College and later studied at the King Alfred's College (UK)
during 1956-58. During 1980-90 Teman served as the headmaster of Nicosia's
prestigious Türk Maarif Koleji.
Tekman
is well known for his beautiful wooden sculptures as well as his poetry and
many articles published in the press.Some of his poetry and short stories were
published in 'Çardak', 'Çevre' magazines.
