Poet and writer (b. 1878, Birecik / Şanlıurfa - d.
1917, Kerkük). He attended Birecik Military High School, Halep High School,
İstanbul Engineering School and Teacher Training School. He worked as a
mathematics teacher in Makriköy, Mercan and other high schools. He worked as an
inspector of education around Erzurum, Van and Bitlis. When he was the director
of Kerkük Secondary School, he died of typhoid.
For a period, he worked as editor of Avam newspaper, which was published in
İstanbul. He spoke Arabic and Persian and was also known for his oratory. In
his poems, the influence of Fuzuli, Namık Kemal, Hamit and Recaizade can be
noticed.
