Pedagogue and writer (b. 1951, Feruz village / Çorum). He attended Feruz Village Primary School (1964), Çorum Eti Secondary School (1968) and graduated from Çorum Primary Teachers Training School (1971) and Ankara Gazi Institute of Education, Department of Turkish (1979) and Ankara Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1988). He continued his post-graduate education at Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Education and Teaching of Turkish (1990). He worked as a teacher in Hakkâri (1971-72), Ankara (1972-81, 1987-90) and in Germany (1981-87). He worked at the Planning and Book Inspection Commission of Turkish Language and Literature that was organized within the structure of the Department of Instruction and Education (1990-95). Afterwards he again worked as a teacher.

His first poem was published in the newspaper Bab-ı Âli'de Sabah in 1968. He published his novels and short stories for the reviews and newspapers such as Çorum Ekspres (1968-75), Yeni Tanin, Eğitim Alanı, Yeni Devir (1975-78), Gerçek, Hisar, Millî Kültür, Divan, Millî Eğitim ve Kültür, Doğuş Edebiyat, Türk Edebiyatı, Töre, Dolunay, Oluş, İlkyaz, Türkiye and Millî Eğitim (1978-96). He came third at the short story competition held by the review Gerçek with his short stories Çıkış (The Exit) and Sarı Öküz (The Yellow Ox) in 1979, came fourth at the short story competition held by the review Töre with his short story Niyet (The Intention) in 1980 and came first at the competition held by the review Yeni Düşünce with his short story Türküm Doğruyum (I am Turkish and Honest) in 1983. He was selected the writer of the year for children’s literature by the review Gençlik in 1996. He won the Ministry of Culture 100th. Year Award (1981) with his storybook Beyaz Yürüyüş (The White Walk), the Writers Union of Turkey Story Writer of the Year Award (1985) with Duvarın Öte Yanı (The Other Side of the Wall) and the Ministry of Education Award (1994) with Sana Seni Anlatmak (Explaining You to You). His short story Bir Mavi Duman (A Blue Smoke) was filmed for television under the name of Anlatmak (To Tell). His novel Başıma Dağlar Düştü (Mountains Fell on My Head) was broadcast on the radio (five parts serial). He is a member of the Writers Union of Turkey and the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey.

He has also prepared textbooks.
