Writer (b. 27 June 1921 - d. 9 October 1989, İstanbul). He also used the pen names Nevzat Çorum and Ziya Atılgan. He attended Balıkesir High School and graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1944). He worked as a teacher of literature for a few months and as a farmer in Hacırahmanlı Village in Manisa for a long time. Then he settled in İstanbul and worked in different jobs.

He depicted the people of villages and towns in his stories. He gained fame with his novel Aylak Adam (The Vagrant, 1959), which came second at the Yunus Nadi Novel Award held by the newspaper Cumhuriyet in 1957-58 and with Anayurt Oteli (Motherland Hotel, 1973), which was later adapted for the cinema.

SHORT STORY: Bodur Minareden Öte (Beyond the Short Minaret, 1960), Eylemci (The Activist, 1994).
