Poet (b. 1918, Milas /  Muğla - d. 12 November 1996, İzmir). He attended the İzmir II. High School for Boys (1940) and graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Philosophy (1948). He worked as a teacher in Ödemiş and at various high schools in İzmir and then retired. He established the Karşıyaka Public Theater. He presented the program Şiir Saati (Poetry Time) on İzmir Radio.

His first poem was published in Akın newspaper (1936), which was published in İzmir. He used syllabic meter in his first works and moved towards modern poetry later. He wrote for Servet-i Fünûn-Uyanış, Yücel, Değirmen, Kova, Varlık, and Yeditepe, Kaynak journals. While he wrote initially on the themes of romantic love, in his later poems he attached more importance to metaphysical thoughts and feelings such as the temporary aspect of life. He won the Turkish Language Association Poetry Award in 1967 with his book called Evren Türküsü (Song of the Universe, 1966).
