Writer, researcher, and educationist
from Turkey. Born in Malatya. He got his Bachelor degree from Atatürk
University, the Department of Turkish Language and Literature. He worked in
Siirt, Yalova and Samsun as a teacher.
Melih Yılmaz’s first novel “Gece/Bir
Güneydoğu Masalı” published in 2008 with Journalist/writer Aydın Engin’s and
writer Necati Güngör’s presentation and preface. Writer’s second and third
books “Birinci Paketi” and “Gazel Kuşları Japon Balıkları” were published
respectively in 2009 and 2013. Along with the novels his book “Şemsi
Belli/Hayatı/Sanatı ve Eserleri” where he discovers the life and literature of
Şemsi Belli came out under the “Malatya Books Series” of Governorship of
Malatya.
Melih Yılmaz was rewarded with the third
place in Tudem Literature Awards with his historical fiction “Minşar Uykuları”
in 2018.
