Poet and writer (b. 26 July 1932, Bilecik - d. 14 Mart 2013, Ankara). He started his education in Şanlıurfa and completed his primary education at Ankara Necatibey Primary School and junior school at Ankara Taşmektep. He graduated from Eskişehir High School (1950) and Ankara University, Faculty of Theology (1962). He started his working career as an announcer on Ankara radio in 1959. Afterwards he worked as the Chief of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation Provincial Radio Transcription Service and Audio Programs, as a director at Turkish Radio and Television Corporation Provincial Radio, a program consultant and advisor, the Director of Diyarbakır Radio, Chief of the Program Planning Department, advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, ministerial consultant and Chief of Program Representation at the State Planning Organization.
After 1982,
the year that he officially retired, he worked as an academician at the
Faculties of Communication at Anadolu, Gazi and Selçuk universities for fifteen
years. He has prepared programs for the Turkish Radio and Television
Corporation such as Açık Oturum, which he started and gave the name to;
in Radyo Kitaplığı, Dünya Döndükçe, Sorun Söyleyeyim, Büyük Nutuk, Elli
Yılda Elli Ozan, İftara Doğru (first religious program on television) and
in 20. Yüzyıl Türk Şiiri. He has also prepared television documentaries.
He started his writing career at
the review İstikbal published in Eskişehir in 1950. His articles on
current issues were published later in reviews such as Sakarya, Kudret,
Millet, Cumhuriyet, Yeni Gün, Milliyet, Tercüman, Her Gün, Adalet and İktisat.
He was one of the publishers of the reviews Aras, Oğuz and Gurbet.
He published his poetry, essays, interviews and short stories in reviews such
as Varlık, Türk Yurdu,Türk Dili, Hisar, Çağrı, Töre, Millî Kültür, TRT, Dil,
Karınca, Eğitim, Günce and Türk Edebiyatı. He is a member of the
Turkish Association, the Ankara Journalists Association, the Turkish Culture
Service and the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners
of Turkey.
