Betül Tarıman

Poet (b. 7 September 1962, Keşan / Edirne). Her full name is Betül Tarıman (Aktaş). She attended Bingöl Yenişehir Primary School (1974), graduated from Konya Atatürk High School (1980), and Hacettepe University, Faculty of Letters, Department of History (1986). She worked as a teacher at Derecik (Trabzon) and Kastamonu High Schools. Since 1998 she worked as a consultant at Ward House Project of Kastamonu Province that was started to carry out in order to make inhabitant of the quarter conscious in Kastamonu where she has lived since 1994. She is a member of Litterateurs Association and Writers Syndicate of Turkey.

Her first poem “Son Eylül” (Last September) was published in 1922^nd number of Kıyı review. Her poem and book introduction works were published in Kıyı, İnsancıl, Damar, Akatalpa, Yeni Biçem, Öykü-Şiir, Çağdaş Türk Dili ve Yaklaşım, Varlık, Şiir Odası, Cumhuriyet Kitap reviews. She wrote book introductions in weekly supplement Kitap of Cumhuriyet daily. In 1994 she collected Ali Rıza Ertan Poem Achievement Award, in 1996 third rank award in Spring Poem Competition III of Municipality of Çankaya, in 2000 Jury Private Prize in Arıburnu Poem Awards with Kardan Harfler (Snow-letters) folder.
