Poet and writer
(b. 1957, Erzincan). He graduated from Ankara University,
Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics (1980). He
completed his doctorate in the same department (1989). He worked as General
Chairman of the Idealist Guild (1978), as Vice President of the Municipality of Sincan (1984-87), as a consultant at the
Ministry of Agriculture Press and Public Relations Organization (1991-96), as
Secretary General (1992-94) and General Chairman (1996-97) of the Writers Union
of Turkey. He published Genç Arkadaş,
Hasret, Nizam-ı Alem and Divan
reviews. He was arrested on 12 September 1980 and was in prison for 16 months.
In 1983 he
established Genç Sanat Publication House. He was Directorship General of Yeni
Düşümce newspaper (1987). He prepared programs for the Turkish Radio and
Television Corporation and GAP TV. He administered Tarım ev Köy review.
In 2005 he was selected as a board member of the Turkish Radio and Television
Corporation. In 1999 he received the National Civilian Strategic Concept Award
and the Writers Union of Turkey Thought Award.
