Theologian, politician. He was born in Salyazı village
/ Kelkit / Gümüşhane in 1929. He received Islamic sciences trainings since the
primary school years. He worked as Imam and Orator in Gümüşhane. He has
completed his primary, secondary and high school education by attending the
examinations externally. Later, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of
Theology (1965). He worked as the Director of Religious Affairs for a period.
After leaving this job, he became a politician, and joined MSP. He was selected
as Erzurum senator for MSP in 1977; and as Gümüşhane deputy in 1995 from RP and
in 1999 from FP.
