Poet and writer (b. 22 November 1946, Trabzon). He attended of Central Primary School (1958), Ankara Yenimahalle High School (1966) and graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature (1979). He worked as a lecturer at the Karadeniz Technical University (1984-87), as Head of the Service for Domestic News at the newspaper Güneş (1988-89), Head of the Cultural Department of Trabzon Municipality (1990-95), Head of the Cultural Department in the province of Trabzon (1996-97) and as the Head of the Cultural Department in the province of Gümüşhane from 1998. He did not participate in competitions due to his objection to award-giving in the arts. He is a member of the Human Rights Association.

His first poem, Sarhoş ve Gece (The Drunkard and the Night) was published in the review Yeditepe (February, 1972) and his later works appeared in the reviews Dergâh, Kıyı, Nar, Edebiyat ve Eleştiri, Güldiken, Mavi Portakal, İnsancıl, Uç, Agora, Kaşgar, Kül, E, Son Kişot, Ada, Mor Taka, Adam Sanat, Bahçe, Cumhuriyet Kitap, Yeni Biçem and İnsan. His poem Gecekonduda Ölüm (Death in a Shanty Town) was set to music by Ferhat Tunç. Some of his poems have been translated into foreign languages.

COLLECTION:  Tebessüm, Sırıtma ve Ötesi: Cioran (Smile, Grin and the Beyond: Cioran, 2005), Mutlu ve Muzdarip: Nietzsche (Happy and Troubled: Nietzsche, 2005).

DICTIONARY: Varoluşçuluk, Temel Kavramlar (Existentialism, Basic Concepts, 2005).

In addition, he translated many works by Ömer Hayyam, Nietzsche, Cioran, Sadi, Mevlana, M. Guérin, J. Derrida, Şeyh Galip, Baki, Nesimi and J. Prévert.
