Literature researcher, lecturer, rector. She was born in Avanos, Nevşehir in 1964. She completed her primary, secondary and high school educations in Eskişehir. In 1986 she graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Literature, Turkish Language and Literature Department. She completed her Post Graduate and Doctorate studies at Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences. She started working as a lecturer at Gazi University, Faculty of Science and Letters, Turkish Language and Literature Department in 1987. She became an assistant professor in 1995, associate professor in 1999, and professor in 2005.

She worked as Gazi University Turkish Culture and Hacı Bektaş Veli Research Center manager, GÜADEK (Gazi Üniversitesi Academic Evaluation and Quality Development committee) member, and member of boards, deputy head of department, project manager and deputy project manager. She gave numerous scientific lectures and presented declarations in the country and abroad. She served as article writer for Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Ansiklopedisi, Yeni Türk İslam Ansiklopedisi, Türk Dünyası, Kavram ve Terim Ansiklopedisi, moderator of various panels and symposiums in the country and abroad; and president of regulatory boards of national and international symposiums. She was deemed worthy of membership of honorary committees of symposiums. She worked as an editor and as a magazine editor. She took part in schoolbook commissions prepared by the Ministry of National Education. She had a great number of published articles and books of scientific content. She was assigned as the founder rector of Nevşehir University in 2008. She is currently working in this position. She is married and has two children.
