Story and novel writer
(B. October 3, 1918, Karadeniz Ereğlisi – D. November 11, 1989, Istanbul). He
graduated from Istanbul Robert College secondary section (1935). He worked as a
bank officer, coal trader and travel agency officer before his journalism
career. He began with his journalism career at Yeni İstanbul newspaper in 1955; and he worked in Anatolian Agency
and Hayat magazine (1956-1962). He
was occupied with authorship. He has written popular books, research books on
Turkish and world aviation and stories for children. His novels were serialized
in Doğan Kardeş magazine.
His first children’s
play received two awards in Radio and TV Children’s Play branch in TRT 1970 Art
Awards. His work Özgürlüğe Doğru was
awarded with the second place in 1984 Sıtkı Dost Children’s Literature Contest.
His novels are in line with Orhan Kemal and have the similar sensitivity; in
which he focused on social problems and reflected love with a realist approach.
