Historian (b. 1889, Çanakkale – d.
1961, Ankara). He graduated from the Military School (1908) and from the
Military Academy (1914). He worked as the Commander of the Western Front
Operations Division during the National Independence War. He participated in
the Lausanne Conference as a military advisor. He worked as the general
secretary to the President twice (1924-26 and 1928-32), and as the ambassador
to Moscow for one year (1927). He was the first head of the Turkish Historical Institution
and he prepared many works related to history both as translations and as
articles.
