Poet and writer (b. 1930, Taşpazar village / Ödemiş / İzmir – d. 30
October 1989, Munich / Germany). He dropped out of Art School in order to work
for his family’s business due to his father’s death. After he had worked in
several jobs, he settled in Germany where he went as a worker (1965); he later
worked for the Siemens Company
His poems were
published in the weekly newspaper Ödemiş (1948),
then he wrote stories and these were published in the reviews Yeditepe, Güney, Yelken. He published an
anthology titled Ödemiş Şairleri
(Poets of Ödemiş, 1958). His novel, Irgat
Hasan (Capstan Hasan), was published in installments in the newspaper Sabah Postası (İzmir) in 1963. He was
known for his Gurbet (Foreign Lands)
stories.
