Writer and poet (b. 14 November 1940, İstanbul). His full name is Mehmet Eray Canberk. He has used the pen names Akay Tekhan, Aydın Ergü, Gülsüm Talay, Güngör Songür, Işık Horasanlı, Mehmet Eray and Mehmet Tuncay. He attended Haydarpaşa High School (1958) and graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of French Philology (1964). He was a translator between 1964 and 1968. Before he started working in publishing, he had been a primary school teacher for a while. He was editor-in-chief at May Publishing between 1968-69, a teacher at Sefaköy Sakarya Cevizli Primary school between 1969-75, a publisher between 1976-82 and a translator at Habora Publishing House, May Publishing, Hürriyet newspaper, Gözlem Publishing, Yılgör Press-Publication, Arkadaş Machine Chemistry, Grolier and Ar Press and Publication. He managed Kavram Publishing, which he established with Afşar Timuçin. His biography has featured in different general culture reviews and literature encyclopedias. He is a member of Writers Syndicate of Turkey.
