Storywriter
(b. 1 August 1962, Afyon). She attended İstanbul İsmail Hakkı Uludağ Primary
School (1973) and graduated from Afyon High School (1980), İstanbul University,
Faculty of Literature, Department of Philosophy (1984). She completed her
master's education in the Philosophy Department of the same faculty (1987). The
subject of her thesis was “Türk İslam
Düşüncesinde Tasavvuf Eğitiminin Değerlendirilmesi” (Evaluation of Sufism Education in the Turkish - Islam Thought). She gained her doctorate upon
completing her doctoral studies at İstanbul University, Faculty of Economics,
Department of Social Structure Main Science (1995). Her doctorate thesis was “Moda ve Zihniyet” (Fashion and Mentality). She became the guidance director at
Fazilet Private High School for Girls between 1986 and 1987 and from 1995 she
became a columnist for the newspaper Yeni
Şafak.
Her
first story named Taş Bina (Stone
Building) was published in the magazine Doğuş
Edebiyat (Ankara) in 1980 and her stories and other literary works were
published in the magazines Dergâh,
İzlenim, Kırkayak and Kafdağı in the following years. In the
year 2000, she gained the Writers Union of Turkey Short Story Award with her
book named Gün Akşamsızdır (The Day
Has no Evening).
