Poet and writer (b. 7 July 1922, Kiriyet Village,
Gagauzia, Moldova). He attended primary school in his village and secondary and
high schools in Akkerman and Bırdal cities. After Second World War, he studied
history and language in Kişnev Institute of Pedagogies, stage arts in Leningrad
Institute of Theatre and lastly, Turcology in Baku.
He worked as a
teacher for long years. He founded theatre and music companies. He served as
chief of chorus and orchestra, choreographer and film director and rector in
Komrat Gagauz University. Professor Tanasoğlu is a lecturer in Kişinev
Pedagogies University. He wrote poems from his juvenile days. He is a member of
the Writers Union of Moldava, Writers Union of Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics. Tanasoğlu who prepared first Gagauz Alphabet in 1957, received the
Turkish Culture in Balkans Superior Service Award of Bay Review in 1998.
