Tayyar Altıkulaç

Commentator, bureaucrat, head of religious affairs. He was born in Bıngıldayık / Devrekhane / Kastamonu in 1938. He became hafiz when he was nine years old. He completed his primary school education in Devrekhane, his secondary and higher education in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul High Islam Institute (1963). 

He worked as teacher and principle in Istanbul Imam Hatip High School (1963-65). He worked as lecturer in Istanbul and Kayseri Islam Institutes (1965-71). He studied Arab Language and Literature in Bagdad University (1967-68). He received his Ph.D. from Commendation Subdivision. He worked in Religious Affairs Directorate and NEM (National Education Ministry).  He worked as head of Religious Affairs Directorate and he got retired with his own will in 1986. Then he worked as a lecturer in Marmara and Baku State Universities Faculty of Theology. He worked as head of TDV Islamic Research Center (ISRC) and also worked as writer redactor in the same institution.  He was given professorship rank by Azerbaijan University and he became a permanent member of this academy. During the elections in December 24, 1995, he went to parliament as Istanbul congressman and worked as head of TGNA National Education Commission.
