Poet (b. 1934, Gürhojan Village, Kabardino-Balkar Republic). She is the first Balkar woman Poet. She was exiled to Middle Asia with her peoples in 1944. Her poems could be published after exile in 1957.
Her first book Kayada Açan Çiçekler (Flowers Bloomed in
the Rock) was published in Nalchik in 1959, and her other books were published
in Nalchik, Moscow and Baku. Most of her poems were translated into foreign
languages. Her poems were published in all Commonwealth of Independent States,
in Turkey and in world languages. She is the first woman poet received the
Russian Federation Maxim Gorky State Award. She is a member of the Writers
Union of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics-Russian Federation and the state
artist of Kabardino-Balkar Republic. She was elected as the Member of
Parliament of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics during the period of
Garbachov. She is called as the Sappho of Balkar literature.
