Mehmet Asım Us

Writer (b. 1884, Gördes / Manisa – d. 11 December 1967, İstanbul). His full name was Mehmet Asım Us. He graduated from Beşiktaş Military Elementary School, Vefa High School and the School of Politics (1907). He worked as a lottery clerk at the Agriculture Bank and a clerk at İzmir Municipality (1908). He resigned when he was the District Governor of Elmalı (1909) and worked at the newspaper Tanin owned by Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın. He worked as a teacher at İstanbul Teachers Training School and Galatasaray High School and as a civil servant at the Ministry of Finance. He left these official duties and started to publish the newspaper Vakit with Ahmet Emin Yalman (1918). He was elected as the Artvin and Çoruh parliamentary deputy after the announcement of the Republic (1927, 1950). He wrote columns in the newspapers that he published.

His translations were also published.
