Poet and writer (b. 1561, Alaşehir / Manisa - d. 1628, Skopje). His real name was Üveys. He became a Muslim judge like his father after he completed his education in İstanbul. He was a judge in Egypt, Akhisar, Tire, Alaşehir, Turhal and Skopje. He joined the Hungarian expedition of the Grand vizier Ali Paşa as an army judge. In addition, he worked as a property inspector. His tomb is in Skopje.

He is known for his prose even though he was a poet who prepared a Divan* and whose poetry was appreciated by his contemporaries. His prose works are full of ornamented statements with long sentences like his contemporary Nergisî although he wrote with a clearer language. His most famous works are Siyer-i Veysî (The Life of Mohammad by Veysi), which was completed by Nabi after his death, Hâbnâme (The Book of Sleeps) that he presented to Ahmed I and Münşeat (Letters) in which he collected his various letters.
