Poet and writer (b. 1927, Bitlis). He attended the Ankara Mimar Kemal Primary School, the Ankara Atatürk High School (1947), and graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of Turkology (1953). He began to work as a journalist in his student years and as a reporter, proofreader, writer and editor-in-chief in the newspapers Ulus, Tercüman, Hürriyet, and Son Saat and in the review Kaynak. He served as press secretary at the Turkish Employers Syndicate Confederation (1964). While he was working for the Bottle and Glass General Directorate as a press councilor, he retired (1978). In the following years, he worked as a press advisor in the private sector and as a teacher at private institutions He is a member of the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey and the Writers Union of Turkey.

His poems have been published in the reviews and newspapers Kaynak, Aile, Ülkü, Yeditepe, Varlık, Türk Dili, Seçilmiş Hikâyeler, Tercüman, Cumhuriyet, Çağrı, Tarla and Maya. His articles have been translated into Romanian, Serbian, Arabic, Armenian, English, German and Hebrew.

POETRY: Üç Otuz Para (Three-Thirty Money, 1950; with articles about him, 1969), Bir Martı Öttü (A Sea Gull Cried, 1964), Uzak Maviler (Distant Blues, 1981).

NOVEL: İstasyonlar (Stations, 1954), Vapur Düdükleri (Ship Siren, 1962), Şarkısız Dünyaların Orkinosları (Songless Tunas of the World, 1977).

MEMOIR: Dağlara Giden Yollar (Ways Going to the Mountains, 1974).

AUTOBIOGRAPHY: Nazif Akıncı (Nazif Akıncı, 1980).
