Poet and writer. Born in 1964,
Harun village/Adıyaman. He belongs to a family of Diyarbakır origin. He completed his primary
and secondary education in Adıyaman, his higher education in Ankara. After graduating in 1986 from High School of Press
which is part of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara
University he went to France
(1987). He continued his life and works in Paris. He compiled his works in French,
Turkish and Kurdish languages. Six poetry books and one novel written by him
are published in French. His first book “Aşkın Yalın Hali” (1992) is
published in Turkish under the editorship of İhsan Işık and as part of Elvan publications.
He is awarded with “Le Prix
Théophile Gautier 2008”
Poetry Prize thanks to his last poetry book “Sadece Ateşsiz Bir Köprü -
Juste un pont sans feu”. Dağtekin, who received his prize in the famous French Academy
in a ceremony attended by exclusive figures in the world of literature, was
also deemed worthy for Mallarmé Prize with his same book last year.
Although he came as an adult to France and started to learn French after the age
of 22, he wrote extraordinarily creative poems in this language and has
contributed new concepts and discourses to poetry in France
like famous poets such as Gerard de Nerval and Arthur Rimbaud. Aside from
mastering French, this young poet opened brand new windows with the new depth,
new sounds and musicality brought by him to this language. His awarded poetry
book “Sadece Ateşsiz Bir Köprü” is published by Le Castor Astral Publications
in France.
Dağtekin whose 6 poetry books and
one novel are published in French also received in 2007 with his last book “Juste
un pont sans feu –Sadece Ateşsiz Bi r Köprü” the Mallarmé Poetry Prize
which is the most important poetry prize of French language.
He is awarded after his book “Les
chemins du nocturne - KaranlikYollar” with the International Yvan Goll
Poetry Prize and his novel “Geceyarısi, Kaynakta - A la source, la nuit”
is deemed worthy for “Prix des 5 Continents” special award of French in 2004.
