Poet (b. 6 August 1960, Trabzon). She completed her primary and elementary education in the city she was born in. She is a graduate of Gevher Nesibe Health Education Institute (1986). She worked in Yozgat (1979-80), Trabzon (1980-83), Ankara (1983-86) and Sakarya (1986-93) at health institutions and schools. She was a teacher of courses at the Sapanca Vocational High School of Health. She is a member of the Turkish Authors Association.

Her first poem, Yıldız Kaydı (The Star Slipped), appeared in the Kıyı review in issue 18, 1983. Her works were published in the reviews Kıyı, Karşı, Yeni Biçem, Çağdaş Türk Dili, İnsan, Eşik, İzlek, Şiir-lik starting from 1983, besides appearing in numerous anthologies and poetry almanacs. She won the İzmir Municipality Award in 1991, the Petroleum Workers Union Award in 1992, the Yarımca Poem Festival in 1993, the Sabri Altınel Poetry Award in 1993, and the Ali Rıza Ertan Poetry Award in 1993 with her book Kanadı Atlas Kuşlar (Satin Wing Birds); and with her book named Çılgın Su (Crazy Water), she received the 1993 Poetry Award of the World Book Association. With her book Bir Şehrin Hatıra Fotoğraflarından (From a City’s Souvenir Photographs), she won the Arıburnu Poetry Award in 1998.
