Oya Gündüz Aksu was born in Artvin in 1966. She completed elementary and secondary school in Ankara. After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture the School of Home Economics in 1987, she worked as a teacher in Düziçi, Mardin, Karamürsel, Ankara, and Kocaeli, respectively.
Her articles, poems and stories have been published in several magazines and books in Turkey and abroad. (Akademi Gökyüzü, Patikalar, Aydili Sanat, Edebiyat Nöbeti, Ekin Sanat, Kurşun Kalem, Ihlamur, Meluşa, Miletus, Karakedi, Mortaka). She was on the editorial board of the Aydili Art Magazine for a while. Her unpublished file “The Babbler Inside Me” was given the Arif Baş Children’s Poetry Award in 2019. She still continues to prepare an anthology named “The First 20 Years in Our 21st Century Poetry.”
