Feridun
Özgören was born in Istanbul in 1942. He graduated from the Department of
Economy at Istanbul University. He then completed his study at the Department
of Biostatistics of Michigan University School of Public Health. He learned
marbling art (Ebru) from Niyazi Sayın. Özgören has held many solo exhibitions
and given workshops in many cities in the US. His works can be seen in the
collection of many museums such as Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Harvard Art
Museums. In 2016 he received Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Award. Besides
being a marbling artist, Özgören is a ney and tambur player. He conducts the Cambridge Society for Classical
Turkish Music. Özgören currently continues his work in Boston.
