Graduated from
primary school and junior high scholl in Ankara.
In 1977 graduated
from Ankara Imam-Hatip High School.
In 1981 graduated
from the Department of Turkish-Literature of Training Institute.
In 2004 graduated
from the Faculty of Theology.
In 1977 started
her career in the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs.
Between 1992 and
1996 worked as literature teacher in the Central Imam-Hatip Highschool of
Ankara.
Between 1994 and
1996 conducted women studies on an individual basis.
In 1996
transferred her work to Turkish Religious Foundation (Türkiye Diyanet
Vakfı-TDV) and founded the Department of Women’s Branch of Turkish Religious
Foundation (Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı Kadın Kolları Başkanlığı) (In the forthcoming
days it was named as the Centre for Women Activities).
In 1998 founded
TDV Cultural Centre of Incesu (TDV İncesu Kültür Merkezi).
Between 1996 and
2010 had been the director of the Department of Women’s Branch of Turkish
Religious Foundation and the chairman of the executive board.
In 1998 was the
first women in Turkey who took the title of religious services specialist in
Turkish Religious Foundation.
In 1999 was again
the first women in Turkey who took the title of education specialist in Turkish
Religious Foundation.
Between 1997 and
2000 prepared and presented TV programs on religion on Flash TV, in 2001 on
TRT, and in 2012 on Halk Haber TV.
Between 2000 and
2004 served as Delegate of Turkey for Women of the Turkish World of the
Balkans.
In 2000
investigated the suicide events of young girls and women in Batman and its
surroundings. Prepared a report on the issue and presented to the Turkish
Religious Foundation and to the Ministry of Interior Affiairs.
Between 2005 and
2011 studied Islamic Law, the method of Islamic Law and Kalam with Prof. Saim
Yeprem and also completed her education on Koran (ashara-taqrb and taʿlīm) in
TDV.
Between 2000 and
2011 had been a member of the Human Rights Commision of Prime Minister’s County
of Altındağ.
Participated in
various conferences held in the Balkans, Turkish republics, Islamic countries,
in various countries of Europe and the United States on such issiues as
problems of women, on religion, culture and morals, on modernization and Islam.
Has four
published books and also has many articles which have been published on
Turktime.com, Ulus and Sabah, and also on two local newspapers.
At present:
Is member of the
Executive Board of the Institue of 21st Century Turkey
Is the director
of the Studies of Ethics of Civilization and Faith.
Is member of the
Board of High Consultation of ANKAFOR.
Has been a
columnist in the Sozcu since 2011 up until now. She is married with Hikmet Sucu
(1981-) and is the mother of Dr. Dt. Zerrin Kübra Sucu and Buğra Sucu.
