Researcher
and writer (b. 1 September 1956, Eskipazar / Karabük). He attended primary and
the Seconday School in İstanbul, and Kırşehir Primary School Teacher Training
School for Boys. After working as a teacher in Eruh in Siirt (1974-75), he
entered İstanbul University and graduated from Faculty of Literature and Çapa
Teacher Training Academy, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1979).
He served as a teacher in various secondary and high schools. In 1990, he
completed his master thesis on “Yahya
Kemal'in Şiirlerinde Edebî Sanatlar” (The Literary Styles in the Yahya
Kemal’s Poetry) in the İstanbul University Social Sciences Institute. Starting
from the 1990, he began to work as a Director of Encyclopedias Publishing in
the Ministry of Culture. He was
retired from the City National Education Directorate in December 2001. He has
still worked as an academician in the Kültür University.
His
first article “Cengiz Dağcı”, were
published in Hareket review (August,
1979). His articles, essays and interviews were published in Hareket, Divan, Türk Edebiyatı, Orkun, Türk
Dili, Millî Folklor, etc.
Between the years 1984-94, he worked as an editor in the Türk Edebiyatı review. Starting from March 2001 he has worked as
a chief editor. He had rather given in the biography
and text analysis genres. Recently he published a travel notes of cities in the Türk Edebiyatı review (2001-) in which
he told predominantly cities’ local and historical features. He has been a
member of The Professional Association of
Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey and the
Turkish Literature Association.
