Communication scientist, writer and translator (b. 1964, Şarkışla / Sivas). He graduated from 9 Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and TV (1986). He did his master’s at East Anglia University (United Kingdom, 1991) and his doctorate on Turkish cinema and Turkish modernism at Middlesex University (United Kingdom, 1998).
In his student years, he worked as the United Kingdom representative of the newspapers Yeni Şafak, Zaman and Channel 7. He has work as a columnist at the newspaper Yeni Şafak since it was founded. In 2002 he collected the Writers Union of Turkey Press Thought Award with these articles.
He has given lectures on World Cinema, National Cinema,
Theory of Communication, History of Civilization and Thought at Bilgi
University. In 2004 he became the editor-in-chief of Channel 5.
