Yunus Zeyrek

Researcher, poet and writer (b. 1956, Yolağzı-Sinsetip village / Posof / Ardahan). He started his primary school education in Günlüce Village and completed in Diyarbakır Silvan Secondary Boarding School. He studied his high school and graduate education in Erzurum. Beginning from 1979, He served as a teacher in Pınarbaşı, Gökçeada and Çan, Tavşanlı and worked as a Ruler in the Public Education Center. In 1988 he went to Germany to work as a teacher. In addition to give Turkish Culture Lectures in Munich, he made Turkology researches. He gave conferences in Austria and Germany and wrote articles in Turkish newspapers published in Munich.

In 1994, he returned to Turkey, and worked in the Ministry of Education, Committee of Education and Training. He completed his graduate education in Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Folk Literature and began to work in the Department of Turkish Language in that University (1997). In 19 June 2004, He has selected as the Head of Confederation of International Ahıska Turks Foundations. He has been a member of the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey

His first poem (5 April 1971) “Türkiyem” (My Turkey) were published in the Silvan Newspaper. In later years, his articles and poems were published Bizim Anadolu, Millet, Hergün, Zaman Newspapers and Türk Edebiyatı, Tarih ve Toplum, Divan, Doğuş, Bilig, Türk Kültürü, Posof’un Sesi, Türkiye Sosyal Araştırmalar Dergisi, Türk Ekspres, Yeni Türkiye, Türk Yurdu, Bizim Ahıska reviews. Particularly he has had researches on Caucasia, intensified to Ahıska and Acaria. His articles were published in the Türk Yurdu review has become very popular among Georgian State University scientists.
