Poet and writer (b. 20 August 1956,
Konya) He attended Namık Kemal Primary School, Balıkesir Religious High School
(1973), Konya High School and graduated from Atatürk University, Faculty of
Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1978). He worked as
a teacher of literature in Kırıkhan (1979), Ilgın (1980-85), Amasya (1985-89)
and Konya (1989) from 1979. He completed his post-graduate education at Samsun
19 Mayıs University. His thesis was Behçet Necatigil’in Şiir Dünyası (The
Poetry World of Behçet Necatigil). He is still working as a teacher in Konya
and continues to work on his doctorate.
His
first work appeared in the review Edebiyat (Ankara) with his poetry,
articles and translations. He wrote under the pen name Selim Yavuz in this
review. After the review Edebiyat was closed, his work was published in
reviews such as Millî Eğitim, Yedi İklim, Konya, Nar, Eylül, Aşiyan, Bumerang, Kayıtlar,
Eylül, Okuntu, Metafor, Kökler and Hece. He contributed to the review Çerağ
(36 issues) that was published in Konya. He has written his column Dil Burcu
under the pen name İbrahim Kardeş for the newspaper Yeni Şafak since
1997. He has written the columns Dil Ağacı, Kavuklunun Yeri and Kızımla
Konuşmalar for the Internet site 40ikindi.com.
