Poet and writer
(b. 1946, Kozbeyli / Foça / İzmir). He attended primary school in Kozbeyli
village near Foça and secondary school in Menemen. He graduated from
His poems and
other work have been published in various reviews and newspapers. He has
published the longest running literature review in İzmir, Dönemeç, with his friends. He published his prose which featured
his memories, anecdotes and thoughts under the title of "Cumartesi Sohbeti
(Saturday Conversation) in the
newspaper Yeni Asır (1966). He
won the 1980 Nevzat Üstün Poetry Achievement Award with his work Sanayi Çarşısı (Industrial Market). He
received an honorable mention at the Ömer Faruk Toprak Poetry Awards with Gecede Kanat Sesleri (The Sounds of
Wings at Night) in 1982 and won the 1992 Ceyhun Atuf Kansu Poetry Award with Kod Adı: Mansur (Code Name: Victory). He also won the 1993 Yunus Nadi Unpublished
Poetry Award and the 1994 Cevdet Kudret Literature Award with Kirli Tarih (Dirty History).
