Poet and writer (b. 1 January 1958,
Gümüşhane). He graduated from Gümüşhane İmam Hatip School (1973) and Atatürk
University, Faculty of Islamic Sciences (1978). He went to Holland after having
worked as a teacher in Eskişehir and left this profession in 1985. He has
worked freelance in Holland since 1996. He is a member of the Writers Union of
Turkey, the Endulus Teachers Foundation (Holland) and the HDR (Human Dignity
and Rights Foundation, Germany).
His first poem was published in the
review Millî Fikir (Çorum, 1975).
Also under his first name, his poetry, essays, travel notes and short stories
were published in the newspapers Mavera (1976-83),
Muştu (1976-78), Aylık Dergi, Haksöz (1999), Umran
(1999-2000) and in the newspapers Yeni
Devir (1979-83) and Yeni Dönem
(1999) in Turkey; in the reviews Kafdağı (1994-2000),
Wird (publication committee member,
2000) in Germany; in the newspapers İntertürk
(1994) and Mavi Posta (1995-1996) and
in the review Platform (2000) of
which he administered the culture and art pages in Holland. He came first in
the article competition in 1981 and came second in the short story competition
in 1982 held by the newspaper Yeni Devir.
