Poet. He was born on
March 1, 1962 in Taştepe village / Araklı / Trabzon. He graduated from Araklı
High School (1980). He left Mimar Sinan University, Department of Photography
unfinished (1982). He worked as a redactor in some journals published in
Istanbul (Varlık, Tasarım)
(1983-1985); and as a redactor and traffic responsible in some advertisement
agencies (1985-1987). He continues to work as film producer, assistant
director, script writer and editor since 1987. He has established the Orhon
Murat Arıburnu Poetry Prize Contest which has been organized since 1990; and
Hera Publications which publishes only poetry books. He is the member of
Writers’ Trade Union of Turkey, Men of Letter Ankara and SESAM.
His
first poem named Rıhtım was published in Oluşum magazine (1983). In the
following years, his works were published in journals such as Oluşum (1983-84),
Varlık (1984), Milliyet Sanat (1985-86), Hürriyet Gösteri
(1985-96), Adam Sanat, Broy, Parantez, Yeni Düşün, Dönemeç, Çağdaş Türk
Dili, Şiirlik, Göçebe, Cumhuriyet Kitap, Öküz, Uç, Çıkın. He received Akademi Publishing House
Poetry Success Award with his book Toplanmış Sevgi Ölüleri (1985) and Yunus
Nadi Cemal Süreya Special Award with his poem Cemal Süreyya İçin Onbeş
Prelüd (1990). His poems were translated into Bulgarian, Greek and
Rumanian.
