Poet, journalist and writer (b. 28 January
1942, Emirköy (Kiselova Village) / Varna / Bulgaria).
He graduated from high school in Dobrich (1961), and the School
of Economics in Varna (1969). Starting his career as a
journalist, he worked in the newspapers Varnenski Beâk and Yedigün
in Varna. He
worked for twenty-five years as a journalist.
In 1958 his first poem, Vatan
(Country) featured in the newspaper Halk Gençliği (published in Sofia), which is no longer
printed. His other articles and poetry were published in reviews such as Yeni
Hayat, Halk Gençliği, Eşek Arısı, Ludtema and Deli
İş in Bulgaria, in reviews and newspapers such as Akbaba
(1970-75), Cumhuriyet, Atılım in Turkey and in the reviews Krokodil,
Timsah, Literararnaya in Russia as well as his work published in
various reviews in Yugoslavia and Macedonia. He also translated stories and
poetry from Turkish to Bulgarian.
He is a well-known anecdote writer of Turkish
literature in Bulgaria.
Humorous elements are of importance in his poetry and writing. He won Gabzovo (Bulgaria)
City’s Award for Humor in 1985. He is a member of the Bulgarian Association of
Humorists, the Varna Writers Association and the Provincial Humorists Association of
Bulgaria.
