Opera,
movie and theatre artist (B. 18th March 1912, Istanbul - D. 22nd
July 1992, Istanbul). Her real name was İrma Felegyan. She came from a Turkish
family of Armenian origin. She changed her name to Toto after marrying the
theatre artist Mehmet Karaca and was named as Toto Karaca. She was the niece of
the theater artist Vartiter Felegyan and the mother of the musician Cem Karaca.
She took ballet lessons at her young ages. She took part in musical plays by
using the name İrma Toto. She was ranked among the most important character
players of the Turkish Theater and Cinema. She passed to the operetta of Ömer
Aydın in the years 1930. Together with her husband and friends, she was among the
founders of the İstanbul Theatre in the year 1960.

Karaca got on the stage in many theater plays and operas. Besides, she took
part in cinema movies such as “Bizim Kız”, “Yasemin”, “Bağda Gül”, “Kadının
