Novel and short-story writer (b. 1943, İstanbul - d. 19 February 1986, Switzerland).
Her full name was Tezer Özlü Kral. She was the sister of Demir Özlü. She
graduated from Istanbul Austrian
High School for Girls.
Her short stories and translations appeared in various reviews after 1960. She
collected the Marlburg Literature Award (1983) in Germany with her novel Bir İntiharın İzinde (On the Track of a Suicide) that she wrote in German. This
novel that made her famous was later published in Turkish with the title Yaşamın
Ucuna Yolculuk (Voyage to the End Of Life, 1984). In this novel she put
across successfully a young girl’s suffering resulting from a life that she
believed was becoming pointless. The short stories she wrote in German were
later translated into Turkish and republished with her first book.
