Researcher-writer. He was born in Hani / Diyarbakir in 1958. He has completed his primary school education in Hani, secondary school in Diyarbakir and high school in Elazig. He has completed his higher education in Ankara. He worked at Töre journal about culture, arts and literature. He worked as the Executive Editor of Kon [Çadır] journal in 1979 and as the editor of Kon Publishers. He has also worked in Ministry of National Education and in Prime Ministry.
He is known with his research and studies on the history, art, culture, folklore, ethnology, beliefs, tribes, traditions and customs, local languages and dialects of Eastern and South Eastern Anatolia. His works were used as a reference in many national and international sources.
His articles were published in several journals and newspapers such as Türkiye, Ortadoğu, Millet, Hergün, Birliğe Çağrı, Kon, Türk Kültürü, Türk Dünyası Araştırmaları, Millî Folklor, Erciyes, Bizim Ocak, Tanıtım, Kardaş Edebiyatlar, Nurhak, Bingöl, Piya, Raştiye, Zaza Press, Çıme etc (some of them with pseudonyms). He continues his research on his areas of interest, and he is a member of Turkish Occupational Union of Owners of Scientific and Literary Works (ILESAM).
