Legist, author, translator (B. 1877, Istanbul - D. 1942, Istanbul). Graduated from Darüşşafaka High School, Yüksek İktisat ve Ticaret School, Istanbul Faculty of Law. After he accomplished his education, he worked as a teacher and a lawyer. He became popular with the important lawsuits he took.

Haydar Rıfat translated the books of worldwide famous authors like Emil Ludwig, Lenin, Gustav, Balzac, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Karl Marx; he published his translations in a book named Dün ve Yarın Tercüme Külliyatı. His articles on law and literature were published in many newspapers and magazines.
