Literature
historian, academician. He was born in Ulubey / Uşak in 1962. He graduated from
İzmir Ataturk High School and Erzurum Ataturk University, Faculty of Literature
(1983). He has completed his doctoral study with the thesis “Linguistic Characteristics of Evliya
Chelebi’s Seyahatname” in 1993. He worked in the Republic of Tatarstan for
a while (1993-1994). Then he returned to Istanbul University, Faculty of
Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature as a lecturer.
