Poet and writer (b. 1913, Radovişte /
His early poems were published in the review Varlık under the pen name Şevket Hıfzı (1933). Having his poetry
book published under the same pen name, he gave up writing poetry after he
started to write columns and produced work in the genres of essay and
conversation. He won the Burhan Felek 1987 Award for his contributions to
journalism. Some of his poems have been set to music in various styles.
