Theologian (b. 16 December, 1940,
Yağcılar / Ödemiş / İzmir). He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of
Theology (1964). He received his doctorate degree at the Sorbonne University
(1972) with his thesis “The Revelation of
the Koran and Social Environment". He worked for the Department of
Religious Affairs for a while. In 1973, he entered Erzurum Atatürk University,
Faculty of Islamic Sciences as a research assistant and he became an associate
professor there. He transferred to Konya Selçuk University, Faculty of Theology
in 1985 and became a professor. He has been a member of the High Council of
Religious Affairs since 1992.
His articles were published in the newspapers and
reviews Özlem
(1961-62), Yeni İstanbul (1964-66), Millî Gazete (1974), Yeni Devir (1978) and İlahiyat Fakültesi (1973). He won
the National Culture Foundation Award in 1980 with his work Kültür Açısından İnsan ve
Fiilleri
(Humans and Their Actions from the Perspective of Culture).
