Writer (b. 1926,
Bursa - d. 4 November 1983, İstanbul). He studied political sciences and
economics in France (1955). After returning to Turkey, he worked as an
assistant at the Turkey Middle Eastern Institute of Public Administration. He
attracted public attention with his articles published in newspapers and
reviews such as Ulus, Kim and Akis (1956-60). He was a member of the
Founding Assembly and Constitutional Commission after the military coup on 27
May 1960 (1961).
He gained fame
with his editorial articles in the reviews Yön
(1961-67), which was published in 222 issues, and in Devrim, which he managed (1969-71). His fame spread even wider with
his research titled Türkiye’nin Düzeni
(The Regime of Turkey, 1968), which received the Yunus Nadi Award in 1969. He
was kept in prison for some time after the military coup on 12 March 1971
because of his articles in the review Devrim.
Among his works, the most important ones are Türkiye’nin Düzeni (The Regime of Turkey) and Millî Kurtuluş Tarihi (History of National Independence) and
Türklerin Tarihi (History of the Turkish Nation).
