Tahsin Bey was born on 1874. After he had made drawings and watercolors at the Diyarbakır Rüştiyesi, he continued his studies for the painting in İstanbul. He was known as the “Diyarbakırlı Tahsin” in Harbiye, a student of Hoca Ali Rıza.
Tahsin graduated as lieutenant cavalry from Harbiye on 1895. He resumed his studies at painting atelier, which opened at palace by Osman Hamdi Bey. When he was a major, became ill during the WWI (First World War) and was send to the Budapest for treatment. He married in Budapest. When he had came to native country, he retired. He died in 1937 at Kadıköy.
Paintings showed at auctions in recent days and paintings made in Budapest are very important for Turkish Art of Painting. He was private and important among the few number of painters who themed sea scenes like Ayvazovski, Arif Kaptan.
