Poet and writer (b. 1939, Tepeköy / İzmir - d. 19 January 2010, İzmir). He received his primary and secondary education in the villages and towns of the Aegean Region. He graduated from Çanakkale Teacher Training School and the Gazi Institute of Education, Department of Literature. He worked as an administrator and teacher in high schools and elementary schools for a while and from 1966 and as a programmer and director at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation. In this period, he prepared and presented one thousand five hundred TV and radio programs. He retired in 1996.

His first articles were published in Nasır, which is considered the first village review. His articles, reviews, interviews, essays were published in various culture and art reviews such as Türk Dili, Varlık and the newspapers Cumhuriyet, Milliyet, Yeni Yüzyıl, Radikal (1997-99). He still writes the İzmir Esintileri column in the newspaper Radikal. He won the 1971 Turkish Language Association Award, the 1984 İzmir Culture Art Foundation Story Award, the Best Production Award for Children’s Film at the Berlin Film Festival, the 1992 Çanakkale Municipality Short Story Award and the 2002 Hasan Tahsin Award for Journalism. With his play Son Yazı (Last Article), he won the first award given by the Theatre and TV Writers Association Drama Contest and in 2003 and he won the first poetry award at the Platform of the Lovers of İzmir.
