Theologian (b.  March 1, 1938 in Gaziantep - d. April 12, 2022 in Beykoz / Istanbul). He used the pseudonym of Mustafa Talip Güngörge in some of his work. He graduated from Gaziantep Primary School, Maraş Imam Hatip School (1968), Istanbul High Islam Institute (1972). He worked as Imam, preacher and mufti at the Directorate of Religious Affairs for 15 years. He worked in Istanbul University from 1984 onwards. He worked at the Social Sciences Institute of this university. He taught as sociology of religion professor since 1998 at Istanbul University, Faculty of Theology. He was stabbed by a student when he was the dean of IU Faculty of Theology in 1998 because of a discussion about headscarf.

His first articles were published in Haber newspaper (Gaziantep) in 1964. He wrote in the journals of Türkiyem (50 issues) which was published by him, Sancak and Ortadoğu newspaper for seven years as a columnist. His daily articles were published in Takvim newspaper from 2000 onwards.
