Educationist
and writer (12 April 1936, Rize). He attended Güneysu Primary School, graduated
from Yunun Emre Teacher Training School and Istanbul University, Faculty of
Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. In 1988 he completed
his doctorate with the thesis “Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’da Estetik Trans”
(Aesthetic Transition in Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar) at İstanbul University,
Institute of Social Sciences. In 1999 he became an assistant professor at
Marmara University, Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish. In
2001 he was appointed as Chairman of the Department of Turkish Language and
Literature at the same university. He retired in 2003. He is a member of the Professional Association of Scientific and
Literary Work Owners of Turkey and the
Turkish Literature Association.
Since
1967 his works has been published in reviews and newspapers such as Millî Gençlik, Millî Gazete, Hergün,
Ortadoğu, Tercüman, Türk Edebiyatı, Toker, Meş'ale, Millî Kültür, İnsan ve
Kâinat and Kültür Dünyası. In 1993 his work about
Yunus Emre was given an honorable mention in a competition held by the Work
Bank of Turkey.
